Who is responsible
Witty’s Bite, Accra, Ghana. For anything on this page, including a request to see or delete your data, write to hello@wittysbite.com.
What is collected
Your account. Name, email address and phone number. The phone number is not optional: lunch is handed to a person at a desk, and she needs to call you at the door.
Your profile. Office, an optional desk or floor note, an optional photo, and your allergies and dislikes.
Your orders. What you ordered, any note you added, the total, how you paid, and a copy of your allergies taken at the moment you ordered. The copy is deliberate: a receipt from March must keep saying what was true in March.
If you order as a guest, your name and phone number for that order only, and no account is created.
If you choose to write. Reviews you publish, private feedback to the kitchen, and bug reports.
Notifications. If you turn on push notifications, the subscription your browser issues, so your phone can be told that lunch is on the way.
Allergies, said plainly
Allergies and dislikes are health information, and they are treated as the most sensitive thing here. They are collected for exactly one purpose: so the person cooking knows. They appear on the kitchen board and on the prep sheet, which means the kitchen team can read them. That visibility is the point. Anything less and the field would be decoration.
They are never used for advertising, never shared outside the kitchen, and never sold. You can edit or clear them yourself at any time from your profile.
This is a home kitchen with shared pots. She cooks around what you list. That is avoidance, not a guarantee of a trace-free plate, and the difference matters if your allergy is severe.
Who can see it
The kitchen. The cook and anyone she adds to the kitchen team can see your name, phone number, office, desk note and allergies against your orders. They cannot see your password, which nobody can, including her.
Nobody else. Your data is not sold, rented or shared for advertising. There are no advertising pixels, no analytics scripts and no third-party trackers on this site. You can check: the source is open.
Services used to run it
Appwrite Cloud stores accounts, profiles and orders, on servers in Frankfurt, Germany.
Microsoft Azure runs the website itself, in France.
Paystack takes payments. Card and mobile money details are entered on Paystack’s own page and never reach these servers. What comes back is a payment reference and whether it succeeded.
Resend sends email, such as your receipt and your verification link.
Google is involved only if you choose to sign in with Google. In that case Google tells this app your name, email address and whether that address is verified. Nothing is sent back to Google, and your Witty’s Bite activity is not visible to it.
Because two of those services are in Europe, your data is stored outside Ghana.
Cookies
One cookie, named wb_session, which keeps you signed in. It is set so that browser scripts cannot read it, and it is removed when you sign out.
There are no advertising or analytics cookies, so there is no cookie banner to dismiss.
How long it is kept
Orders and receipts, three years. They are the business’s own records of what was cooked and what was paid.
Your profile, until you ask for it to go. It exists to save you typing your allergies and office every time.
Guest orders, three years, for the same reason as orders, and they carry a phone number and nothing else about you.
What you can ask for
You can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or withdraw permission to send you notifications or email. Most of it you can do yourself from your profile.
For the rest, write to hello@wittysbite.com. You will get an answer within 30 days.
Deleting an account removes your profile and your ability to sign in. Past orders are kept as described above, because they are the business’s accounting records, and they stop being linked to a profile you can sign into.
Children
This is an office lunch service, not intended for children, and accounts are not knowingly created for anyone under 18.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything that affects what is collected or who can see it will also be said in the app rather than quietly edited here.
